TOPPING WELCOMES POLICE CRACKDOWN ON ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
>> 15 September 2010
SNP councillor for Fraserburgh Brian Topping has welcomed the announcement by Grampian Police of a concerted effort to crackdown on anti-social behaviour in the Westshore Gardens area of the town.
Councillor Topping has had numerous meetings with local agencies urging a joint approach to sorting out the problem and is strongly supportive of the police action, which will see high-profile policing in the areas affected by anti-social behaviour.
Commenting, Councillor Topping said:
“Anti-social behaviour is a scourge on people’s lives in certain areas of the town and I’m delighted that the police and community wardens will be concentrating resources on this. It’s a quality of life issue for many people.
“But the police cannot crack this problem on their own and I would encourage members of the public with information on the perpetrators of anti-social behaviour to contact the police, or Crimestoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.”
Grampian Police can be contacted on 0845 600 5 700. The charity Crimestoppers, where calls are treated anonymously, can be reached on 0800 555 111.
