SALMOND PERSONALLY CONGRATULATES HANNAH MILEY

Gordon MSP, Alex Salmond, has welcomed back local gold medal swimmer, Hannah Miley, following her stunning performance in the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Ms. Miley (centre of picture) met with Mr Salmond in India following her gold medal success and was met off the plane by Sports Minister, Shona Robison MSP, on her return to the UK.

Commenting Mr Salmond said:

“I had the honour of personally congratulating Hannah when I was in Delhi, not only on behalf of Gordon but on behalf of the whole of Scotland. Her dedication to the sport has paid dividends and she was fully deserving of her gold.

“The whole community is right behind her in her pursuits and successes and I’m sure Inverurie will wish her the warmest of welcomes back to the town.

“Hannah is an extraordinary young woman: a committed athlete, a formidable competitor, and a shining example to young people in the area. She is a true local champion whose remarkable talent and dedication has produced outstanding results.”
