LOCAL COUNCILLOR ELECTED VICE-CONVENER OF GRAMPIAN POLICE BOARD

SNP councillor for Mid-Formartine Allan Hendry has been elected vice-convener of Grampian Police Joint Board.

Councillor Hendry is himself a former police officer was elected at a meeting of the Board held on 12 November.

Commenting, Councillor Hendry said:

“I am delighted at being elected to this position and I am very grateful to my colleagues on the Board who showed their confidence in me by voting in my favour.

“I look forward to the challenges ahead, of which I have no doubt there will be many, and will do my best to help overcome any difficulties both for the Board and for the people resident in the Grampian Police area.”


Banff & Buchan MP Dr Eilidh Whiteford added:

“Allan brings a lot of experience to his new position as a former police officer and I know he will work very hard in his new role, as he has been doing for the past three years as a Police Board member.”
