Peterhead Councillor Wishes Blue Toon Success On Sunday
>> 6 January 2012
Peterhead FC season ticket-holder and SNP councillor for Peterhead South & Cruden Stuart Pratt has wished the team well for Sunday’s cup clash with Celtic FC and spoken of the boost the game has brought to the town.
Commenting, Cllr Stuart Pratt said:
“There’s a real buzz about the town and everyone I’ve spoken to is really excited.
“This is without a doubt one of the biggest games in Peterhead’s history and full credit must go to Chairman Rodger Morrison and the Board for keeping the match in Peterhead.
“It would have been very easy to stage it at Pittodrie and have more gate receipts but the club have done a lot of work so the match could take place in Peterhead and I’m delighted that they have done so.
“As it is, we’ve had Sky Television, for example, filming in the town on Thursday so it’s good to see Peterhead getting some positive publicity.
“I wish the boys every success on Sunday and will be there to cheer them on.”
