Euro-MP Previews Scottish Maritime Academy

>> 6 November 2012

SNP Member of the European Parliament Ian Hudghton will take time out from his surgery tour of Buchan on Thursday 8 November at 2.30pm when he pays a visit to the new Scottish Maritime Academy at The Lido, Peterhead.

Mr Hudghton is holding a series of surgeries locally on the day and expressed an interest in visiting the Scottish Maritime Academy which officially opens this week. The SNP MEP will be accompanied by Peterhead South & Cruden councillor, Stuart Pratt.

Mr Hudghton commented:

“I am delighted to be able to pay a visit to the new Scottish Maritime Academy in Peterhead and very much looking forward to a ‘behind the scenes’ preview before its official opening on Friday.

“I can think of no better location than Peterhead for a facility of this nature and I think this will not only prove to be an important asset to the industry but also a significant contributor to the local economy once it is up and running and attracting students from Scotland, Europe and beyond.”
