Broch Councillor Welcomes Plans for New Primary School

>> 13 June 2023

At today’s Banff and Buchan Area Committee councillors were asked to comment on plans to close the existing Fraserburgh North School and St Andrews School on completion of a new school building and to continue education provision in a merged primary school located at the Fraserburgh Academy site. The proposals were positively received and commented upon by the Committee.

Councillor Seamus Logan (SNP: Fraserburgh and District) welcomed the plans. Commenting, he said:

“Despite the difficult times that we all face, it is great news for Fraserburgh that these plans are progressing. We all look forward to the development of a modern school for the town, one which bodes well for the future education of our children, and I hope that the proposed timetable for the new build can be delivered as planned.”

The proposed merger and new build plans will now be considered by the next meeting of the Council’s Education and Children’s Services committee in August.
