SNP HIGHLIGHTS ROAD CLOSURE

>> 26 August 2009

The SNP is highlighting a road closure on the main A947 Aberdeen to Banff road which will affect constituents.

The road will be closed on Sunday 13 September for one day to allow Chap Civil Contractors to carry out repair work on behalf of Scottish Water.

Diversion notices will be in place directing traffic to use an alternative route via Hillbrae Way and Kingseat Road.

Commenting, an SNP spokesperson said:

“These are important works which will be taking place leading to the closure of the road at Newmachar so I think it’s important to flag this up and make the public aware.

“The A947 is a busy main route, even on Sundays, so it is vital that people factor in enough time to their journey, particularly those using it to get to Dyce Airport or Dyce Station.”
