TROUP COUNCILLOR COMMENTS ON MACDUFF HOUSING CASH

>> 20 October 2009

Commenting on the announcement yesterday by the Scottish Government of funding for the Moray Street Insulation Project in Macduff, SNP councillor for Troup Ward Bob Watson said:

“I'm very pleased and greatly encouraged at the attention that our SNP led Scottish Government is giving to the upgrading and retention of our existing local authority housing stock, and, of course, the commitment to put money into the building of thousands of new council homes in the near future.

“The fact that the Scottish Government has now announced that £168,580.00 will be granted to the Aberdeenshire Council Moray Street Flats Insulation Project, to bring those granite built flats up to a standard where the heating and insulation will make them energy efficient, comfortable, and thereby much more attractive and affordable for tenants is very good news, and a testament to the SNP Scottish Government's grasp of the real issues facing our population now and in the future.”
