POLICE BOARD MEMBER PRAISES GRAMPIAN FORCE PERFORMANCE

>> 20 January 2010

Grampian Police Joint Board member and SNP councillor for Mid-Formartine Allan Hendry has praised Grampian Police for achieving high levels of public satisfaction with its service and for logging high levels for responses to Grade 1 Emergency Calls.

The findings are revealed in the Scottish Policing Performance Framework annual report, published by HM Inspector of Constabulary for Scotland today.

Commenting, Cllr Allan Hendry said:

"I congratulate Grampian's police officers on achieving this report, particularly our front-line officers who are the main interface with the public.

"Public confidence in their local police force is extremely important and it appears that things in Grampian are very much moving in the right direction. Of course, there will always be areas where improvements can be made, particularly when having to contend with the criminal mind.

"However, I am confident that the SNP Government's continued commitment to making Scotland a safer place which has seen a very welcome increase in police officers in Grampian, will stand the force in good stead to achieve continued improvements."
