FIRST MINISTER OFFICIALLY OPENS FOX LANE
>> 11 May 2010
North-east MSP and First Minister Alex Salmond officially opening Westhill’s Fox Lane Garden Centre today (Tuesday).
Mr Salmond was joined by owner Gordon Henderson, Westhill & District SNP councillor Amanda Allan and Maureen Watt MSP.
Fox Lane Garden Centre is a family business run by Gordon Henderson and his family. The business relocated last year from Aberdeen to their new site next to Carnie Woods at Westhill. It provides an alternative for individuals whose needs were not being met by normal day care provision. Workers can gain skills in horticulture, animal husbandry and be involved in working in a team and have a shared commitment to the success of the centre.
Commenting after the opening, Cllr Amanda Allan said:
“The people here are all happy at their work and enjoy the freedom of working at Fox Lane.
“They take great pride in the fact that their plants are all grown in the North-east to suit the weather conditions here and are very good value.
“Fox Lane is a fantastic facility and I wish Gordon and his staff all the best for their future success.”
