>> 18 January 2011
Gordon MSP, Alex Salmond, has today welcomed a substantial cash boost for Cornerstone Community Care from the Scottish Government.
Cornerstone - who operate throughout the Gordon area – received £29,000 from the Scottish Government in a recent round of cash awards for charities across Scotland.
Cornerstone is one of Scotland’s largest charities, proving support for disabled and elderly people in Aberdeenshire. They support over 1,200 people across the country.
Commenting on the news, Mr Salmond said:
“Having previously visited Cornerstone staff and clients, I know firsthand the excellent service this organisation provides and the real value of its work. It cannot be underestimated what a difference the charity’s work makes to the lives of those who utilise its services.
“I am delighted that the Scottish Government is able to support Cornerstone again in their sterling work. It’s great to see the work this charity carries out in our community being recognised yet again, and I wish the team at Cornerstone every success in their future work.”
