PETERHEAD CINEMA SHOWS SUCCESS

>> 20 March 2011

Saturday’s cinema presentations at Peterhead Community Theatre have been hailed a great success after both showings attracted a capacity 300 audience. So popular were the features that some people had to be turned away due to maximum capacity being reached.

On offer to movie fans at the weekend were an afternoon showing of Yogi Bear and the main feature of the highly-acclaimed and recently-released film The King’s Speech in the evening.

Commenting, Peterhead South & Cruden councillor Stephen Smith said:

“It’s great to have the pictures back in Peterhead once again and to attract full houses for both showings. I think this demonstrates that there is a real need for such a facility and that if quality films are offered then there will be a ready audience to see them in their own community.

“The staff and team at Peterhead Community Centre are to be congratulated on this success and I hope that this facility can continue in the future on a regular basis.”

Further film presentations planned for April include Black Swan starring Natalie Portman and Gnomeo and Juliet.
