Marr Councillor Welcomes Mobile Police Surgeries

>> 21 May 2011

Huntly, Strathbogie & Howe of Alford SNP councillor Joanna Strathdee has welcomed the news that Grampian Police will be reaching out to local communities across Marr next week, following-up on their mobile surgeries held in March.

Officers will be taking the Mobile Police Surgery to Huntly, Rhynie, Lumsden, Strathdon, Alford and Monymusk next Monday and Tuesday and making themselves available to discuss any issues of concern with local residents.

Commenting, Councillor Strathdee said:

“I very much welcome this initiative from Grampian Police. It is important that police officers are accessible and available in all our communities to get first hand information from local residents.

“Thanks to the SNP Scottish Government’s pledge to put 1000 extra police officers on our streets, our local police force is able to take initiatives such as these. I hope that the proposed reforms of policing in Scotland will lead to more resources being available to front-line officers by stripping out layers of management.”
