>> 11 September 2011
Mid-Formartine SNP councillor and vice-convener of Grampian Police Board Allan Hendry has praised officers for their good work which led to the seizure of heroin with a street value of around £100,000 at Aberdeen Station.
A 37 year-old male from Liverpool will appear in court tomorrow in connection with the seizure.
Commenting, Councillor Hendry said:
“This is a major drugs recovery and sends a strong message to those who traffick drugs into the North-east that you are being monitored and the chances are that you will face the consequences.
“I have nothing but praise for the officers involved in Operation Shield who have once again shown that the fight against the drug traffickers can and will be won.”
