Local Couple's Diamond Day Marked

Local couple Andrew and Bessie Buchan celebrated their Diamond Wedding recently and received a visit from Councillor Fiona McRae who presented them with flowers and a gift on behalf of Aberdeenshire Council.
Commenting, Cllr Fiona McRae said:
“It was a wonderful afternoon, and I was very pleased to be asked along to do their presentation, and to spend some time with the many friends and family who had gathered to celebrate their happy day.
“Andra and Bessie had insisted on no gifts, but a donation instead, which amounted to £650 and will be going to the Alzheimer's Scotland cause. Andra and Bessie were friends of my parents, so in a way their day included a lot of people I knew, which made it even more enjoyable.”
