Peterhead Councillor Raises Local Labour Commitment with Hywind

Peterhead South & Cruden SNP councillor Stuart Pratt has welcomed comments from Hywind after he raised the use of local labour and local contractors with the company at its consultation event in Peterhead this week.

Hywind is planning a floating offshore pilot windfarm at Buchan Deep, approximately 25 km east of Peterhead.

Speaking after the exhibition, Cllr Stuart Pratt said:

"I raised the question of local contractors and local labour being used and the developers said they are keen to do this.

"This is an exciting development but it is important that the local community should get the maximum possible benefit from it."
