Macduff School Breakfast Club to 'Give Pupils Best Start' - Councillor
>> 1 November 2017
SNP councillor for Troup ward Ross Cassie has enthusiastically welcomed the launch of the breakfast club at Macduff Primary School.
Commenting, Cllr Cassie said:
“I would personally like to thank the Head Teacher Mr Walker for enabling its commencement.
“This is an essential aspect towards the Regeneration Plan for Macduff. After all the future of Macduff are the children attending the school. It is a well-established fact that well-fed, well-nourished pupils learn at a better rate than hungry children.
“It is unfortunate that the levels of poverty prevalent in Macduff and its surrounds make this sort of initiative necessary. This needs to be addressed. This breakfast club goes some way to doing that.
“This is evidence that, effectively-used, the Pupil Equity Fund provided by the Scottish Government can and will make life changing advances in closing the attainment gap in Macduff.
“I would encourage all parents to allow their children to come along to this breakfast club to give them not only the best start to the day but also the best start in life.”
