DIGITAL UK CHARACTER TO VISIT BODDAM GALA
Boddam will host an unusual guest at it's Gala day on Sunday 12 July when 'Digit Al' pays a visit.
Al is the front man of Digital UK's campaign to keep the public informed about digital switchover, which starts in July 2010 for those served by the Durris transmitter.
Peterhead South & Cruden councillor Stephen Smith recently met with former Grampian TV newsreader Alan Cowie who now heads the North of Scotland arm of Digital UK and asked if Digit Al would be available to spread the message in Boddam. Alan was happy to oblige.
Commenting, Councillor Smith said:
"We're now just over a year away from the start of digital switchover in the Durris transmitter area, so it's important that people have access to information about what this will mean for them.
"Digit Al and his human helper will be on hand to provide information and advice to people attending Boddam Gala Day."
Digit Al expects to beam in to Boddam around 1.00pm on Sunday 12 July.
