>> 7 September 2010
Gordon MSP Alex Salmond took in the sights of the Huntly Harist this Sunday (5th), presenting local prize winners with awards.
Mr Salmond met several local companies running stalls at the event including Huntly Rotary Club, local butchers and farmers and Books Abroad, a charity which recycles school books for the developing world.
He also enjoyed a programme of local entertainment including singers, pipes and dances by the Brenda Gordon School of Dancing.
Commenting Mr Salmond said:
“In the North East we have some of the best produce Scotland has to offer including superb quality red meat, game and berries.
“It’s great to see the Huntly Hairst helping to promote that rich variety of produce and connect local residents with the food our area produces.
“From food, to crafts, to song and dance - the whole community has pulled together to make this event a huge success.”
