Businessman To Make Ellon Indyref Case
>> 2 June 2014
One of Scotland's highest profile manufacturing employers will be in Ellon next week to set out the business case for Scottish Independence.
Ivan McKee, a Director of the 'Business for Scotland' organisation, will be the keynote speaker at a public meeting next Tuesday evening (10 June), which will take place at 7.30pm in Ellon's New Inn Hotel.
More recently, as a leading member of the pro-independence 'Business for Scotland' organisation, he has been in demand on TV and radio as a straight-talking advocate for Independence, regularly getting the better of professional politicians on the opposing side of the argument.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, a spokesperson for the Ellon & District 'Yes' campaign said that the meeting was the latest in a series of events being organised across Aberdeenshire to help voters get the facts before September's referendum vote.
“We're thrilled to be able to welcome Ivan to Ellon to make the case for why Independence will be good for business in Scotland”, he said.
“Ivan's work has taken him across the globe, including periods working in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, and he currently has manufacturing businesses in Scotland, England and Eastern Europe.
“That global experience has shaped his perspective on independence, and has shown him just how dynamic, responsive and successful smaller countries can be, when given the scope to focus on what is important for their economies and businesses.”
