BROCH COUNCILLOR WELCOMES TOWN CENTRE BOOST
>> 18 November 2008
Fraserburgh & District SNP councillor Brian Topping has welcomed the Fraserburgh Town Centre Property Enhancement Scheme which aims to give a boost to Broch businesses.
The scheme – which provides individual awards of up to £5000 – has attracted 39 applications from the town centre with decisions on successful applications being made later this month.
Commenting, Cllr Brian Topping said:
"This is very good news for the Broch and I'm delighted to see that so many businesses have taken the opportunity to apply for a share of the funding.
"The success of the town centre businesses is vital to the prosperity of Fraserburgh. The SNP recognise that which is why small businesses have had their rates either reduced or completely removed by the Scottish Government.
"This scheme is further evidence of the desire to see local businesses grow from strength to strength."
